Gossipmongers came up with reports that, Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s highly anticipated flick Vakeel Saab will have direct to digital release and producer Dil Raju was offered Rs 100 Cr for digital rights. Fans and movie buffs are laughing at the rumors saying how they can even think of film of the scale to have direct OTT release.
In the lockdown, several Telugu films hit the OTT platforms. Nani and Sudheer Babu’s V is the only big Telugu film streamed on digital space. Apparently, Dil Raju is aware that theaters may not reopen in near future and further delay will become an expensive affair. Moreover, after watching V, many opined that Dil Raju did the right thing.
But, that’s not the case with Vakeel Saab. Even if 200 Cr is offered, Dil Raju is not going to sell it as he doesn’t want to insult the star by opting for OTT release. Moreover, fans will not accept Pawan Kalyan’s film to go OTT way. They will enjoy watching the star’s films in theaters, but not on OTT platforms.
“Commercial films are supposed to be watched on big screens. People don’t get the same excitement watching films like Vakeel Saab on OTT space,” opine an analyst.
Directed by Venu Sriram, Vakeel Saab is likely to release for Sankranthi. Anjali, Nivetha Thomas and Ananya Nagalla are the other prominent cast.
