Kavaludaari

Kannada film Kavaludaari starring Rishi, Anant Nag and Achyuth Kumar released in summer in 2019 was a critical acclaimed and commercial hit movie. This movie is now being remade in Telugu as Kapatadhaari with Sumanth and Nandhita Swetha playing lead roles under the direction of Pradeep Krishnamoorthy. Naga Chaitanya will launch first look and motion poster of the film today. Is this a right decision of remaking Kavaludaari?

A traffic police officer who aspires to wear full khakhi and get a transfer to the crime department and a retired inspector end up crossing paths, when the former decides to solve a murder case that dates back nearly four decades ago. The film has some unexpected twists and turns as the story progresses. Most importantly, the investigation process is very intriguing, though narration is a bit slow at places.

Kavaludaari is a well-written tale that unfolds at its own pace. It, however, lacks most of the trappings of commercial cinema. The film clicks in spite of some scratching disturbances because of its spotless cast and crew.

Coming to remake of the film, it is worth-remaking only if some necessary changes are made in the script. The film is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
