Vijay Was Mahesh Babu’s Villain, But

Ilayadalapathi Vijay enjoys huge fan following among all sections of people in Kollywood. Many are already demanding for his political entry in Tamil Nadu. Superstar Mahesh Babu also has similar fan following in Tollywood. Sometime back rumours spread that Mani Ratnam planned a multi starrer with Mahesh and Vijay.

Many believed in these rumours as Vijay scored many hits in Tamil starring in the remake of Mahesh Babu’s hit films. Many got excited when Mani a star director like Ratnam planned to cast Mahesh Babu and Vijay in his dream project Ponniyan Selvan. Though both Mahesh and Vijay showed their interest, for some reason Mani Ratnam cast Vikram and Karthi.

But even before that Murugadoss planned to cast Vijay and Mahesh Babu in Spyder. He planned to cast Vijay as hero and Mahesh Babu as villain in Tamil and Mahesh as hero and Vijay as villain in Telugu version. Vijay told Murugadoss that he would star in Telugu as villain only if Mahesh Babu plays the lead role and if not he will not do it. But for some reason, Murugadoss cast SJ Surya as the antagonist.
