OTT Review: Kappela, Better Not To Remake!

Kappela is one of the most talked about film in 2020. The film is all set to be remade with Vishwak Sen playing the lead and makers are looking for an actor to play a brief yet important role. Sithara Entertainments acquired the remake rights and the news was announced officially by the production house a month ago.

Kappela is now streaming on Netflix. Anna Ben, Sreenath Bhasi and Roshan Mathew played lead roles in the film directed by Muhammad Musthafa. Sushin Shyam scored the music for the film romantic drama.

The film’s story revolves around Anna Ben who accidentally dials auto driver Roshan Mathew's number. Over a period of time, after knowing each other through their phone conversation, they fall in love with each other and decide to meet in Kozhikode. A stranger Sreenath Bhasi starts following them. After few twists in last half an hour, the film ends on a happy note with a message.

Kappela is a good film with simple story and good performances of lead actors. Anna Ben’s exceptional show makes big difference. Although there are some magical moments and twists, slow paced screenplay is the big drawback. Moreover, many have watched the film on OTT and when the last twist is known there won’t be any exciting factor to watch the remake version. So, better the makers not to remake Telugu version.
