Siva Nageswara Rao recollected an incident when he pulled a gun to save star actress Sridevi. He worked as an assistant director to Ram Gopal Varma for his film Kshana Kshanam.
He said, “There was a train episode on Venkatesh, Sridevi, fight master Horseman Babu, fighters Gopal Reddy, Ram Gopal Varma. It used to be evening 5 PM when others got into the train at Nandyal and come to Diguvametta station.
Production team used to get lunch along with them and they never used to face any trouble from people, as the train did not stop in between. However everyone came to know that at Diguvametta, entire cast and crew will get down and travel by cars.
During the second day shoot when we shot the scenes and packed up, everyone came to watch Sridevi from other nearby villages at Diguvametta station. They are searching all bogies. During that time hero, heroine never used to have bouncers. So if we divert the attention, they can easily get into the car. I got an idea. I took the dummy revolver used during shootings, placed a towel and put the revolver on it.
Uttej came and tried asking something. I told him to watch the revolver intently. Everyone got diverted and forgot about Sridevi. They started looking at the revolver. In the meantime production boys accompanied Sridevi into her car. Later myself and Uttej took over the revolver, the cloth and got into our car.”
