Speculation is increasing as to when the theatres that have been shut across the country due to the corona pandemic will get permission to open and function in a normal manner. Already the summer releases and earlier releases got postponed. Many makers are turning to OTT as the alternative.
Though the governments of the respective states gave permission for the shootings with restrictions, they haven't decided on the opening of the theatres. Even if theatres are opened, it is not that easy to make people come there in a normal manner.
Whenever theatres get opened, there will be uncertainty over the release of the films. Distributors will also face huge problems. Producers at one time trusted individual distributors and gave films for a less advance. But during the crisis, the situation will change. Already producers are informing the same to distributors.
However, Dubbing Films makers are ok with whatever amount they get. Already Tamil stars Vijay's Master, Surya's Akasam Nee Haddura, Dhanush's Jagame Tantram, Vishal's Chakra are ready for releases. If theatres get opened, they are ready to release the dubbing versions soon. Distributors are thinking that if theatres open they should depend only on Dubbing Films.
