The entire world is turning upside down and almost all industries and professions are facing extreme situations and alarming developments are happening due to coronavirus. Under these circumstances, speculation is increasing whether stars and directors' fears turn into a reality.
It is known that the respective state governments have given permissions for film shootings though they haven't taken a decision on theatres opening. Producers are getting ready to resume shootings and wrap up their films.
Under these circumstances, stars, actors, technicians, and directors are experiencing new scares and this is the reason why they are not showing interest in resuming shootings. They are fearing that OTT impact will not only fall on distributors and theatres but also on them.
Producers who lined up big projects with star heroes are now facing difficulties in getting finances. OTTs under these circumstances are luring them with attractive offers. They are offering them Release Slots and few producers who made small films have already signed the deals.
The impact will fall on average and below-average actors and technicians. This is because the projects in their hand will now be released on OTT platforms even before they got to sets and the makers already signed deals regarding it.
They are fearing that their remuneration may come down or remain the same in the future too in the range of Fixed Salary without a hike. Seeing these developments even top stars and directors are experiencing scares.
Film analysts however wonder whether it will turn into a reality. The Producers Guild already passed a resolution that the entire cast and crew should slash their remuneration by 25%. It is not clear how many will accept this remuneration. This is because many top stars are getting somewhere around Rs 30 to 540 crs and some do not even reveal their salaries. Producers do not have the guts to request them to slash their remunerations.
