Heroine In Pitiable State, Dad Cursing Star Producer

When Atiloka Sundari Sridevi started taking daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor along with her to various functions, everyone started raving about the elder daughter. Many filmmakers especially from the south started contacting Sridevi flooding her with offers for Janhvi.

Even Tollywood filmmakers tried to launch Janhvi opposite top stars like Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu, and even opposite Akhil. Though she was offered tempting amount, Sridevi, Janhvi, and Boney Kapoor got carried away with Karan Johar who convinced them that a Bollywood launch would be better than a regional entry. Thus Sridevi and Boney Kapoor rejected all the tempting offers.

Finally, Janhvi made her debut with a small film Dhadak opposite a relatively newcomer Ishan Khattar. The film which is a remake of Marathi hit Sairat did well, but Janhvi did not get many crazy offers opposite top stars. Karan Johar cast her in few more small films like Roohi Afzana, Gunjan Saxena, and Dostana 2.

Her film Gunjan Saxena biopic is releasing on the OTT platform Netflix. Her dad Boney Kapoor is ruing the missed golden opportunities in Tollywood and is cursing Karan Johar for the same after getting ready to release Janhvi's films on OTT instead of theatres. Many feel even if Janhvi makes her entry into Tollywood, top stars may not show interest in her.
