Most of the people do not have holistic approach by nature. They get their minds just tuned to develop craze on the temporary aspects. They feel the burning issues that prevail over contemporary society tend to be made permanent.

For an instance, most of the people thought entire world gets changed with the spreading of coronavirus pandemic in India. But then, post the completion of two months of lockdown, half of the situation has been brought to normalcy. The rest half will be set right in next few months for sure. By the next year, at the same time, people may even forget the spelling of corona.

It was 1983. Doordarshan got an expansive popularity with the telecast of world cup cricket, 1983. As DD was fast emerging, it was thought by cine lovers that the movies wouldn't have any more future and there would be shut down of theaters.

In late 1980s, people habituated to watch films through VCRs and VCDs. Then the so called cine pundits predicted there'd be curtains down for cine industry. But then, nothing of that sort happened.

In late 1990s, TVs again turned a great entertaining media with innumerable entertaining channels started airing movies round the clock. And then, so called cine critics entered the picture and guessed like great sages, cine industry collapsed permanently. But then, nothing of that sort was happened.

In the new millennium, cellphones spread like a pandemic. In a usual practice, our 'Ghanatha vahinchina cine pandithulu' entered the arena and made wild guesses that people would forget the spelling of cinema in future.

It was also speculated piracy would kill film industry.

And now, let's discuss the burning topic Otts. Naturally, cine intellects started speculating there would be no film theaters in future as all the films would be releasing on Ott platforms with juicy offers being given to the filmmakers. Irony is that even some innocent cine media houses, despite knowing the fact that Otts dominance would make them jobless, are encouraging Otts.

Yes, Otts will become the part of people's lives in future like TVs, mobiles and so on. But then, they do not damage film industry anyway. Instead, Otts are a boon to faded out actors and some upcoming filmmakers to ensure they would get some fame through the platforms. That's it.

By an large, platforms like Otts, chaala choosaam! Nothing will damage cinema forever.
