Corona Cases: 21 In AP, 30 In TS

The number of coronavirus cases has been increasing by leaps and bounds in the Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with the largest ever catchment of new infections traced to hundreds of people who recently took part in Markaz meeting at Nizamuddin in Delhi.

Andhra Pradesh sees a total of 21 new cases of Coronavirus in last 12 hours, taking the total tally in the state to 132. Guntur and Nellore recorded 20 cases each, while Prakasam district reported 17 cases. Kadapa and Krishna districts recorded 15 cases each overall. Out of 1800 total samples, 132 tested positive and 1175 tested negative wherein result of 493 samples is awaited.

On the other hand, Telangana reported three more deaths and 30 new positive cases, taking the total to 107. As is known, 14 persons who got cured of the disease got discharged couple of days ago.

While the authorities traced hundreds of the Markaz participants in their respective states and kept them under quarantine in different places, they fear the numbers yet to be traced is still big. Both the governments have appealed all those who attended Markaz congregation to voluntarily contact the health department to avail of free testing and treatment.
