The heads of ruling YSRCP and opposition TDP might fight each other on various issues. For outsiders, they appear to be the staunch rivals. In point of fact, they are mutually benefited with some secret tie-ups between them. Most importantly, YSRCP seems to benefit Reddy community to its best while the TDP is alleged to be biased towards Kamma community.
In the wake of local body polls scheduled in the month end of March, the AP government confirmed reserved and unreserved (general) districts for Zp Chairman posts.
As per the reports, Nellore, Krishna, Prakasham, Kurnool, Kadapa and Chittoor were confirmed for general (women).
But then, why aforementioned districts were chosen by the YCP and why not any agitation from the TDP? "Since the YCP has decided to rope in Reddy community's candidates as ZP chairmen for Nellore, Prakasham, Kurnool, Kadapa and Chittoor the party has chosen those districts. Krishna district was allocated for general to make sure a Kamma personality is selected as Zp Chairman for the district," observes a political analyst.
"East and West Godavari districts were not given general quota to ensure no Kapu politician assumes Zp Chairman post," he added. Hopefully, this view might be wrong. If not, no one can save AP from particular castes' domination.
