Here’s Official Statement From Indian 2 Makers

Three people were killed last night when a crane fell on them on the sets of the Kamal Haasan and Shankar’s Indian 2. The accident happened when a light set-up on top of a crane fell on the crew who were at the spot. Director Shankar was working close to the spot, but had a miraculous escape.

Lyca Productions have come up with official statement which reads: “No words could ease what we truly feel, we are extremely saddened with the unfortunate accident happened at the sets of Indian 2 yesterday (19th Feb 2020).

We have lost our 3 most hardworking technicians- Krishna (Assistant Director), Chandran (Art Assistant), Madhu (Production Assistant). Our deepest condolences to their family members, may their soul rest in peace.”

Kamal Haasan stated: "I have faced and overcome many accidents, but today's is the most horrific one. I lost three colleagues. The distress of their family members will be many times greater than my own pain. I share their grief as one of them. My deepest condolences to them."
