Tollywood and south always avoided showing kissing scenes on screen for quite some time, unlike their Bollywood counterparts. Devika Rani and Himanshu Rai broke the taboo in Bollywood in 1933 with their lip-lock in Karma.
It took lot of time for Tollywood to break the taboo. Nagarjuna became the first hero to involve in a lip-lock when he locked the lips of Girija Shettar in Geetanjali in 1989.
