Anil Ravipudi is too young, but he became one of the most sought after directors in Tollywood after delivering consecutive blockbusters. He got the opportunity to direct star like Mahesh Babu in very early stage of his career. In fact, it was first film for Anil with a star hero.
Sticking to his basics, Anil Ravipudi didn’t try anything innovatively and came up with yet another regular commercial entertainer Sarileru Neekevvaru. The film post release received mixed talk, though it took box office by storm.
The makers hold success meet in Hanmakonda. All the distributors were invited for the function to announce first week collections. They announced of the film collecting 100 Cr+ share in first week. However, trade sources inform the film minted around 82 to 84 Cr share and the makers added 16 to 18 crores to make it a round figure.
Anil Ravipudi who usually is calm and composed expressed his agony on web-media. While he thanked electronic and print media, he indirectly slammed web media for labeling his film as routine commercial entertainer. He also proclaimed that he will continue to make commercial films only.
“My hero is happy, my producers are happy, my distributors are happy and my entire team is happy. I thank electronic and print media for their support. But, web media has branded the film as regular commercial entertainer. I don’t mind much about it. I will continue to make only commercial films. I don’t want to try anything else,” said he showing his frustration on web media.
Of course, Sarileru Neekevvaru has mined massive collections in first week. However, the film may not have long run, due to lack of freshness in story and screenplay. In fact, these kinds of films will not have repeat value. Hope, Anil Ravipudi comes out of his safe zone and makes concept-based films.
