Many are left wondering why directors are falling in Superstar Rajinikanth's trap. Till few decades back people used to experience Rajini mania ahead of his film releases. However Rajini with the recent string of flops brought down his craze. The fault lies with Rajini's own blunders.
Of late, there is no buzz ahead of Rajini's films release. Even his recent release Darbar directed by AR Murugadoss failed to generate the hype. The film got average and negative reviews and even the response from the movie lovers is below average. Critics and viewers are just adding the tag 'a feast to fans' so as not to hurt Rajini's ego.
There is no denying the fact that Rajini's films are flopping as he is treading in the routine stream. Under these circumstances, he tried to change his style teaming up with young directors like Pa Ranjith, Karthik Subbaraj, Murugadoss who are known to come with creative and thought-provoking films.
However while Pa Ranjith failed to utilize the golden opportunity and tried to stuff his own ideology in his film and gave a flop to Rajini, Murugadoss and Karthik Subbaraj instead of making films in their own style, fell in Rajni's mania and came with films that are not suited to their style.
Viewers for long watched Rajini's signature styles, mannerisms. People expected the young directors to break the monotony and show Rajini in a different manner with trendy stories. However, they boasted that they will be showing vintage Rajini, make fans whistle in the theatres and came with routine films like Peta and Darbar.
There was nothing new in Peta and Darbar and one can see Rajini's styles on YouTube and other social media. What is the need for the young directors to once again show Rajini styles on the silver screen? These directors falling in the trap of Rajini mania, banked on his charisma rather than working on the story and in turn presented disasters to their superstar.
