Megastar Chiranjeevi's comeback film Khaidi Number 150 collected Rs.106 crores full run share which includes Rs.80 crore share in Telugu states. And his 151st venture Sye Raa Narasimhareddy minted Rs.146 crore share which includes Rs.106 crore share in Telugu states alone. Interestingly, both these films stood as industry hits (non BB) in Telugu states.
When four big stars such as Chiranjeevi, Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna, King Nagarjuna and Victory Venkatesh were ruling Tollywood, Balayya, Nag and Venky would give tough fight to Chiranjeevi here and there with their industry hits. Balakrishna's Muddula Mavayya, Samarasimhareddy and Narasimhareddy would score industry hits. Nagarjuna's Shiva stood as close to industry hit while Venkatesh had Chanti in his industry hits count.
But then, as far as the current trends of collections are observed, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh are not competing with Chiranjeevi, anyway.
Balakrishna's Gauthamiputra Satakarni stood as the biggest grosser in the actor's career with Rs.48 crores share collections. His flop films are collecting less than 10 crores at the moment. Nagarjuna's Soggade Chinninayana collected Rs.47 crores full run share. Venkatesh's SVSC and F2 collected Rs.50+ crores and Rs.80 crores respectively. But they are multi-starrers. As a solo hero, Venkatesh needs to score a solid blockbuster so that his range will clearly be known. His previous big films, as a solo hero, collected around Rs.25 crores.
Senior fans of films wish to see 1990's big battle among four senior big stars now. Let's hope it so.
