Venky Mama & PRP Lead Roles Castes Revealed!

Some films of Tollywood directly reveal the castes of actors such as Samarasimhareddy, Narasimha Naidu, Seema Sastri, Vijayendra Varma etc. 

However, some film makers wish to reveal the castes of protagonists indirectly. As long as they are projected in a healthy manner, there's nothing wrong in disclosing the castes of actors in the films.

In Venky mama, Naga Chaitanya's full name is shown as, 'Veeramachaneni Karthik Shivaram'. Interestingly, 'Veeramachaneni' is the surname of some people of Kamma caste. 

In Prati Roju Pandaage, Sathyaraj's character full name is shown as 'Pasupuleti Raghuramayya'. In another scene, heroine Raashi Khanna says, "Memu Thotollam'. Both Thota and Pasupuleti are the surnames of Kapu caste from East Godavari. 

In fact, revealing the castes name is an age old tradition in films. In one of the scenes in Gundamma Katha, Suryakantha says, "Memu Kapulam'. Then NTR says, 'Memu Pedakaapulam'. In Missamma also, SV Rangarao reveals his caste saying, "Memu Naayullam'.
