Namrata, Upasana Shower Praises On MIL

Namrata Shirodkar married Super Star Mahesh Babu, despite the cultural and regional differences. Ram Charan's was also love marriage with Upasana. Both the celebrity bahus showered praises on their Sasumaas.

Namrata said, “I got married 14 years back. At that time I was in form as an actress and haven't decided whether to continue acting or settle as a housewife. However after entering the ever joyful house of Krishna Garu, I felt like settling as a housewife. Initially, I had a lot of difficulties as I couldn't understand Telugu and this hampered my interaction with mother in law Indira Devi. But I quickly learned Telugu only for her and she too helped me a lot. Mother in law always used to dream of a girl who can understand Mahesh and look after him well as a daughter in law. Within few days after my marriage, I was overjoyed when she said 'You are like the same girl whom I thought of getting for Mahesh’."

Namrata continued saying, "I was new to Telugu customs, festivals and poojas at the time of my marriage. In Mahesh's family everyone gives value to traditions. There used to be 14 days celebrations for each festival. It was new to me and Mahesh used to be busy with shootings, though I wished to know about it at that time. As I was new I used to be shy interacting with new members of the family. At that time mother in law understood me and taught me all the dishes Mahesh likes etc. She introduced me to dishes like Pongal, sweet Rice, Tamarind Rice, etc. Now I am teaching the same to my children. She used to be very simple, down to earth and never let any guest go without having good. Even now she is positive and very active. She never hurts anyone and there is a lot to learn from her. Within no time, she filled the vacuum of my mother. Few months after my marriage, my parents passed away in an accident. When I went into depression, mother in law looked after me and when she fed me, I saw my mother in her. She used to treat me as her daughter. My sisters in law say that I am very lucky. My daughter Sitara resembles my mother in law in her words and deeds."

On the other hand, Upasana revealed, "I grew up in a joint family. Every day there used to be 50 members in our house and everyone used to stand on one word. So I felt that my in-laws house should also be a joint family. When I was in love with Charan, I asked him, where we will stay after marriage. He told about the plot he purchased and said he would construct a house. I was scared that Charan had plans that only we both should stay together after marriage. After few minutes, I asked 'how can you plan to stay alone after marriage leaving away the family." Then he told me ‘The house I am constructing is only for our weekend stay. I told in that manner to see your reaction’.

Charan loves mother-in-law Surekha a lot and even if he does not see her even for a second, he becomes like a fish out of the pond. Even I respect her a lot.  Even before my marriage I like pets a lot. I had more than ten puppies. I was in two minds to ask my mother in law. Charan's recommendation in such things does not look good. After marriage was fixed when I was in a dilemma, mother in law came to me and told 'I don’t have any objection as to how many pets you bring with you as this is your house'. I felt very happy. After marriage, Charan constructed a house for my pets in the vacant place. My mother in law used to look after them in a good manner. In our house we have two generation daughters in law and mothers in law.

Charan's grandmother at times used to tell me how my mother in law used to be. My mother in law always encourages me a lot and looks after me as her two daughters. Whatever is there, she says frankly. If the father in law’s films is not good, she tells him on his face and I learnt the same frankness from her. She is a good cook but due to dieting I am missing all those delicacies. Charan says the same to me all the time."
