It is known that Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramloo is releasing on January 12th for Sankranthi next year. Knowing this Mahesh Babu pressurized his filmmakers to release his film Sarileru Neekevvaru on the same day.

Mega fans are accusing Mahesh Babu of indulging in such acts as he is scared of Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramloo breaking all records if it has a solo release. Some even say Mahesh Babu by getting ready for a direct fight with Allu Arjun, is stooping from his level. They are even questioning why Mahesh is adamant about having Sarileru Neekevvaru release on the same day.

Star heroes films releasing during Sankranthi are nothing new but releasing on the same day is something new and never happened in the industry. The producers of both Ala Vaikunthapurramloo and Sarileru Neekevvaru are holding discussions to avert the clash but inside talk is Mahesh already issued a diktat to his producers not to budge even an inch on the release date.
