Mega Star Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy directed by Surender Reddy is still showing its power in two Telugu states Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Chiranjeevi met PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and then arranged for a special screening of the film for Vice President Venkaiah Naidu at his house.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu after watching the film heaped praises on Chiranjeevi and the makers for coming with a patriotic entertainer.
Even as Chiranjeevi is busy with Sye Raa promotions at the highest level, theatres screening Sye Raa got a huge shock. It is known how the Union Government is particular about Gst and its collections.
Gst officials are extremely strict and collecting taxes from various industries. The film industry too has Gst and theatre owners should pay Gst. Since the buyers buy the film and screen it, buyers should pay the Gst.
Now Gst task force entered the scene to investigate whether Sye Raa theatres and buyers are paying Gst in the right manner. It is coming out that the Gst task force officials conducted raids on few theatres in East Godavari. It is not clear whether Gst officials will conduct raids across the two Telugu states or it is a one-off incident.
Producer Ram Charan too should pay Gst as he entered into an agreement with the buyers before selling the rights. Buyers should pay Gst once the film reaches breakeven. The film is yet to reach breakeven in various locations and so Ram Charan should pay the Gst. Since the film already crossed Rs 100crs share, tax analysts say Gst will be huge.
