Vijay Devarakonda was lauded as most happening hero in Tollywood after scoring consecutive hits. But, he failed to live up to the expectations with his poor choice of story selection. Due to routineness and lack of freshness in his characterization, NOTA and Dear Comrade turned out to be utter flops.
Now, Vijay Devarakonda is starring in a coming of age romantic entertainer World Famous Lover helmed by Kranthi Madhav. He is romancing Raashi Khanna, Aishwarya Rajesh, Catherine Tresa and Izabelle Leite in the film which is scheduled for release early in 2020.
Vijay Devarakonda is also doing a sports drama titled Hero under the direction of Anand Annamalai. Besides that, he also signed a film with Puri Jagannath. In the film tentatively titled Fighter, Vijay will be seen as a boxer with the problem of stammering.
From last year or so there has been talk about Vijay Devarakonda’s Bollywood debut. Bollywood ace filmmaker Karan Johar indeed was keen to introduce him in Hindi. In fact, Vijay Devarakonda became familiar with Arjun Reddy becoming a sensational hit here and its Hindi remake Kabir Singh turning out to be a blockbuster.
Karan Johar put the proposal of remaking Dear Comrade in Hindi and he even bought the rights. However, with Vijay not keen on starring in remakes and also because of Dear Comrade turning out to be a disaster, Karan changed his mind.
Although Karan Johar proposed few other options, Vijay however was particular about story and director of his Bollywood debut. He wants Sandeep Reddy Vanga who provided him the blockbuster Arjun Redy which turned out to be a game changer for him to helm his first Hindi film.
Apparently, Sandeep Reddy has no qualms in working with Vijay Devarakonda another time, though he is now a star director in Bollywood. But, he wants some more time as he already committed to do Devil with Ranbir Kapoor. After wrapping up Devil, he would join hands with Vijay Devarakonda.
It is learnt that, Sandeep Reddy has already narrated a line story to Vijay Devarakonda who feels it a perfect one for his launch in Bollywood. If things go well, the film will go on floors later next year.
