Star comedian Pruthvi Raj who is popular as '30yrs industry' joined politics and created ruffles across the film circles. After joining Ysrcp, following the elections, he even became the SVBC chairman.

During election campaigning, he angered mega fans with his comments on Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. Meanwhile, he made controversial comments exposing the caste angle in the industry.

He said, "Caste feeling is very much there in the industry and this has been going on since long time. Everyone used to ask 'maa vaadivena'. During that time late Srihari gave me advice. He asked me to nod my head if someone asks about caste and this is the only solution. He told the other solution is add Raju name in front of your name. I did the same and even top actor Krishnam Raju got carried away. He thought I belong to Raju caste and even now he jokes that he got deceived by Raju. Sometimes I faced difficulties due to caste. Even after makeup was done, I was sent out of the shooting spot.

I do not agree that I do not have place in mega banner. There are people who offer me roles. Did I not get a role in Sye Raa? Chiranjeevi is a very good person. He speaks less. Had I added Chowdhary to my name, I would have got numerous offers. There are many who got numerous offers just by Chowdhary name though they are not talented."

He then talking about Pawan Kalyan said, “Though I belong to the same community as Pawan Kalyan, I like YS Jagan as a political leader. So I joined Ysrcp. He told that giving me the post, he is creating lot of opportunities for everyone. When I oppose either Pawan Kalyan or Janasena, they are only ideological differences. I have good relations with Pawan Kalyan. Those who are trolling me for criticizing Pawan Kalyan should remember one thing. Why did Jana Sainiks did not react when a TDP leader insulted Pawan Kalyan by calling him as Pawala Kalyan".
