Chiranjeevi to Do More Pan Indian Films

Megastar Chiranjeevi will be working for more number of pan Indian films in near future. He, himself, disclosed his decision in a top channel's interview aired on Wednesday. 

Chiranjeevi's historical magnum opus Sye Raa Narasimhareddy is doing an exceptional business in Telugu states while the film's final verdict is awaited in Overseas and Karnataka. Sye Raa, however, became a disaster in Hindi circuit. Sye Raa's pre release theatrical business was valued less than Rs.10 crores in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. As such, the losses incurred were also registered less numbers. 

In fact, none of the films with freedom fighters content has been a success in Bollywood for the past three decades. Films like Thugs of Hindustan, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Mangal Pande etc. were bombed at the box office. Sye Raa too joined the list of flops in North India. 

Sye Raa falls under historical genre. If at all, Chiranjeevi attempts a folklore film of universal content something on the lines of Baahubali or Pathala Bhairavi, all commercial elements can be included in the film unlike Sye Raa. Besides, Chiranjeevi may also choose science fiction films with high production values. If a commercial film is made with a strong social message which is accepted by all sections, even then, people of all sections may love to watch such films at pan India level.

All said and done, Chiranjeevi's decision to do more pan Indian films triggered interesting discussions among movie folks.
