Mega Star Chiranjeevi who is basking under the glory of Sye Raa, a film on India's first freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, is slated for his next under the direction of Koratala Siva.
The project was launched in style on Vijayadashami day and sources say it is the remake of Malayalam hit Lucifer starring Mohan Lal and Prithvi Raj. Reports have it that Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan will be reprising their roles.
In the meantime, Chiranjeevi speaking about Sye Raa, surprised all saying he got tensed when he did not get a phone call on the release day.
Sharing the secret, he said, "Generally I get a call early morning 4 Am from the US. However, on Oct 2nd, I did not get the phone call. At 2.30 AM, I got a message from Devi Sri Prasad. He sent a message that the first half was completed and he gave a superb report. He said he will call back after watching the second half. By 4 AM, the film must have completed but I did not get any call. I got up and tension increased in me. We had coffee and sat and were going through the papers. We did not get any call from Devi Sri Prasad. I wondered whether he got disappointed after watching the second half. Even I did not get calls from the US and Canada. At 7 AM I got a voice message. This is from our Bunny.
He said ' just now Bunny Vaas called from Krishna district. The superb response it seems". However, I did not get any kick as Bunny is like own family member and he wishes for the film success. At 8 Am I got another message. UV Creations Vikram called and gave the best report. Later I got a call from the US. When asked why did you delay so much, he said he was trying for tickets for the last three days and did not get them. With the passages of a few hours, strong reports came from the media and web media too gave good ratings giving me relief. Though I was confident, I got tensed at that time. But I am happy that even now good reports are coming about Sye Raa."
About the best compliment he received, he said "While dubbing for my role, I will share what Amitabh Bachchan told me. He said 'it is not an ordinary film. It will enhance the glory of India. Films bringing glory to India will come very rarely and this is one such film. I am happy to be part of this project'. I got delighted when Amitabh congratulated me even before the film release".
