Star Director Feels Anushka Not That Worth!

No one needs any introduction about Mani Ratnam, a renowned director. He can take classics on any subject. However, of late he is under a lean patch.

He is trying to bounce back with his dream project Ponniyan Selvan. The film is based on the novel penned by Kalki.

Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan is a multi starrer with a star-studded cast of Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Big B Amitabh Bachchan,Aishwarya Rai, Mohan Babu, Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh. Many got excited when reports came that Anushka Shetty too would be starring in the film.

However, it came as a shocker when Anushka walked out of the film. Though Anushka remained silent, rumors have it that she walked out of the film as she got lesser screen presence than Nayanthara in the film. But now it is coming out that length of the role was not the real issue for Sweety's exit.

Buzz is Anushka who enjoys equal stardom akin to Nayanthara down south demanded Rs 4crs and this gave a huge shock to Mani Ratnam. But the makers offered her Rs one crore plus GST. With Anushka not coming down, Mani Ratnam felt that she is not that worth and decided to hunt for another actress. Sources reveal Chennai Thendral Trisha has been roped in for the role.

Now the question is whether Mani Ratnam felt Sweety is not that worth or her role doesn't have that worth. However, how can Anushka who is getting Rs 4crs remuneration can come down to Rs 1cr even if it is Mani Ratnam's project? Rahman is the music director for the film produced jointly by Madras Talkies and Lycaa Productions.
