iSmart Shankar Going Bollywood

Mass director Puri Jagannath teamed up with energetic star Ram to come up with an out and out mass entertainer Ismart Shankar. Many ahead of its release wondered whether the routine mass entertainer will save the flop combination.

This because both Puri Jagannath and Ram were reeling under the string of flops. However, surprisingly, the film with routine content and full mass content broke several records at the box office and turned out to be biggest hit for Ram.

Ram's out and out mass avatar, Telangana accent, Nabha Natesh and Nidhi Agerwal's hot skin show did wonders for Ismart Shankar at the box office. Puri Jagannath was so confident that even before the release of Ismart Shankar, he announced a sequel for it.

In the meantime while Puri is busy readying for Ismart Shankar sequel after directing Vijay Devarakonda's Fighter, reports are coming that the film appealed to Bollywood filmmakers. A top production house acquired the remake rights of Ismart Shankar and plans are on to remake the film casting Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. It has to be seen how Ismart Shankar performs in Bollywood.
