Of late pre release events are becoming a farce. Many are expressing their views against pre release events which generally go on for more than 5 hours while the duration of the films itself is around 2 hours.
Recently Saaho event which was screened live and on social media in YouTube channel got around 1 crore 40 lakhs views. Even Agnyaathavaasi which touted to be industry disaster got 1crore 50 lakhs views in just one hour.
Setting aside comparisons between Pawan Kalyan and Prabhas, Saaho is way ahead of Agnyaathavaasi. But one should think why Agnyaathavaasi got more views than Saaho.
What one should observe is though years passed by with the advent of pre release events, the way they are organized did not change. Anchors keep on singing praises of the heroes, artists sing and dance for the heroes old songs, guests keep going on giving lengthy speeches, consuming the valuable time of the people.
Heroes often give entry after 2-3 hours and wrap up the event in just half an hour or so. No one is bothered to complete the event in a short and sweet manner giving memorable moment to movie lovers.
The more the duration of the event and telecast is, the more revenue they can get through ads etc. But if this continues, views will stop watching the events at the venues and instead save time watching events online in YouTube channel and TVs simultaneously doing other work.
