Sumitra, yesteryear actress starred opposite top stars during her hay days. She attained star status even before the entry of Super Star Rajinikanth in the film industry. She shared her working experience with star heroes- Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Nagarjuna.

About Nagarjuna, she said, "I signed a film to star in the direction of SP Muthuraman. One day he came with Rajinikanth and told, 'He is the hero opposite you'. I scanned him and said 'Avunaa. namaskaramandi'. He did not come and sit by my side even for a second during the entire film shoot as I was a star heroine at that time. Even when I asked him, 'Randi. vachi naa pakkana kurchondi', he refused saying, 'vaddulendi' and stood far away. Today's heroes would have sat next to star actresses even before their invitation. That is Rajini's greatness".

About Kamal Haasa, she stated, “Kamal Haasan used to be very naughty. During a song shoot, he used to cut my hair from behind. When I went and turned my hair front, it looked short. He used to tease everyone in the sets."

And about Nagarjuna, she briefed, “During Geetanjali shoot, I was six months pregnant. I had to get into the moving train. But after I took four steps, I slipped. Nagarjuna who was by my side, pushed me inside the train. Had he not done so, I would have been crushed. I did not tell this incident in my house."
