Prasthanam Hindi, Again A Trouble

Sharwanand, Sandeep Kishan and Sai Kumar starrer political action drama Prasthanam directed by Deva Katta in 2010 won the appreciation of one and all. The film was dubbed in Tamil as Padhavi and in Hindi as Asteen Ka Saanp.

It is known that Sanjay Dutt is starring in the remake of Prasthanam Hindi version. The remake stars Manisha Koirala, Chunky Panday, Jackie Shroff, Ali Fazal and Amyra Dastur and is directed by Deva Katta himself.

In the meantime the remake landed in trouble when production-distribution company Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd sent legal notice to Sanjay Dutt and his associates. They said that they own the remake rights of Prasthanam and questioned Sanjay Duty's right to remake the film.

They say they are only seeking justice and their intention is not to create trouble for Prasthanam remake or Sanjay Dutt. Ketan Maru, Shemaroo’s Senior Vice-President for film production, informs, “We acquired the rights in 2012. When we read the announcement of Mr Dutt’s remake, we immediately drew attention to the fact that the remake rights of Prasthanam were with us. However, they paid no attention and proceeded to remake the film.”
