How A Gangster Film Is Titled Valmiki?

Mega Prince Varun Tej is trying to show his acting prowess with his upcoming entertainer Valmiki, a remake of Tamil hit Jigarthanda under the direction of Harish Shankar.

Even as fans are getting excited to see Varun Tej in a completely new avatar, protests are increasing against the filmmakers. Valmiki community longtime back protested against the makers for naming the film after Sage Valmiki and tarnishing his image.

Now BC Welfare National President R Krishnaiah said he supports the Boya Community's demand to change the film title. Valmiki Boyas protested against the makers at Indira Park, Hyderabad.

BC Community United JAC Convener Kundaram Ganesh Chari, BC Welfare Association National Vice President Gujja Krishna, State President Erra Satyanarayana attended and pledged their support to the protest.

R Krishnaiah addressing the protestors said, “Anyone making a film with Valmiki title should highlight spirituality and it is not right to name a film on Gangster as Valmiki."

But, it seems Harish Shankar has no intentions to change the film’s title!
