The president Ramnath Kovind appointed senior BJP leader from Odisha, Biswabhushan Harichandan, the governor of Andhra Pradesh. Born on 3 August, 1934, Biswabhushan graduated in law. He was a good writer and extensively did many literary works in his youth.
Biswabhushan was a partisan of Jan Sangh and RSS those days. This 5-time MLA of BJP rendered his services as a deputy president of the state's BJP in Odisha between 1980 and 1988.
Veritably, the new governor should have been appointed a couple of years ago. Since the AP state was divided and the residual state required the services of the existing governor ESL Narasimhan, the union governments haven't dillydallied for the change of governors.
As the governments changed at the state and and at the centre, the BJP led NDA government has decided to get the governor changed for AP state while ESL Narasimhan would get his services confined to Telangana state.
The BJP is said to have gone strategic with the appointment of the new governor to the AP state. The top brass of the BJP wish to strengthen the party in the state.
