Sex, Obscenity: Not The Shortcut To Success

Though filmmakers and stars do not like this bold statement, there is no denying the fact that intimate scenes in many Tollywood films is crossing all the levels of decency at times one gets a feeling that blue films are better.

Earlier some people and NGOs used to object to even few intimate scenes. But surprisingly that opposition died down for some unknown reason. Older generation stopped watching films unable to watch such scenes while genex movie lovers got used to such scenes.

Earlier people used to take the name of a particular film for crossing the limits of obscenity. Now, one should search for a film to point out that everything is normal in the industry and filmmakers are not crossing their limits.

In the olden days youngsters got attracted to the song where a dancer teases ANR with 'mu mu.. muddante chesdaa. neeka vuddesam leda.. ipudodannavante kurravaada.. repu immanna istana verrivada'. Muddu word drove youth at that time crazy. Now in the current generation of ANR's grandsons, lip-locks turned out to be common. Samantha and Naga Chaitanya's on screen lip-locks stunned all.

However, all the filmmakers and stars are hiding like hypocrites behind the name of glamour replacing it with exposing. Unlike early days where actresses used to be there for such exposing roles, now heroines transformed saying they are not shy of exposing and those scenes.

ANR and NTR very rarely used to touch their heroines as everyone used to give importance to expressions. But even they transformed themselves with ANR dancing with heroine to the song 'pachchagaddi koseti paduchu pilla, nee paita kongu jaarinde gadusu pilla" and NTR dancing to the song 'aku chatu pinde tadise, kongu maatu pilla tadise, aakasa gangochchindi andalu munchettindi' with double meaning words.

Now irrespective of the film content, right from the first look, teaser, trailer, all the posters are having intimate poses replicating Kamasutra poses. Already Tollywood overcame these distractions and realized that content is the king and many time it has been proven that those intimate scenes, songs and dialogues will not work out even with youth unless the content is strong.

But Arjun Reddy redefined the trend and showed the makers that such films will work out and once the word vulgarity turned into wow. RX 100 proved that huggings, kissings and intimate scenes reached peaks on screen. Bhairava Geeta proved that even such adult films do well at the box office. But better the makers realize that sex and obscenity is not the shortcut to success.
