Sharwanand's Ranarangam's teaser has been out some time ago. This seems to be yet another mafia entertainer of sorts.
Of late, Tollywood is on rage with vintage dramas and Ranarangam too joined the bandwagon. This is the story of a mafia don who is a criminal to some people while hero to many. When the question posed by Kajal Aggarwal who this Deva is then the story gets moved back to 1990s. Then we have young Deva who is stylish and smuggles goods and sells liquor by profession. Besides, he romances Kalyani Priyadarshan.
Sharwa looks raw, rugged and stylish in thick bearded getup in both the periods showcased in the movie. Though this appears to be an age old concept, treatment by director Sudheer Varma might add freshness and the reminiscences of it are shown by the director in the teaser cut.
Music by Prashanth Pillai is decent while production values are adequate. The teaser has some interesting and catchy dialogues such as, "Devunni nammalante bhakthi vunte saripoddi. Kaanee manushulni nammalante dhairyam kaavali" and "Kopanni, daahani inkokadu saasinche paristthithilo manam vundakoodadu."
