The sudden and tragic demise of actor-director Vijaya Nirmala left entire film industry shell-shocked.  Tear struck celebrities, fans and movie lovers started paying floral tributes to the great soul.

In the meantime many started wondering how Vijaya Nirmala who looked hale and healthy passed away suddenly. Inside talk is Vijaya Nirmala had been suffering from deadly cancer for quite some time. However, her family members hid the bitter truth from everyone as they did not like the media attention and the outpour of sympathy from all and sundry.

Vijaya Nirmala despite knowing that she was having cancer remained calm and composed and fought the disease bravely taking treatment. She had received treatment for the same till her last breath at the Continental Hospital in Hyderabad on 26th June.
