Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri were considered to be 'Pillars of Parallel Movies' and 'Almighty of Art Movies'. While ruling the roost of their careers, both the heroes, would do a series of art movies which conveyed great messages to the society. Deadly slow paced narration was the highlight of those art films. When 'Dooradarshan' aired those films, people would excitingly watch those films in 1980s.
It seems Prince Mahesh Babu reminds aforesaid Bollywood heroes with his nonstop message oriented films like Srimanthudu, Bharat Ane Nenu and Maharshi. Like aforementioned films, slow narration has been the highlight of Mahesh Babu's films.
However, there are two differences between Mahesh Babu's message films and Shah, Om Puri's films. Mahesh Babu's films are loaded with some commercial elements. Besides, Mahesh Babu has a very good PR team to reveal poster collections of his films.
