Yesteryear actor Sobhan Babu was known for his powerful performances, handsome looks and strong principles. Many females used to develop cold feet during his hay days. His name was linked to many stunning beauties but he stayed away from all of them.
Sobhan Babu's Tahsildaru Gari Ammayi along with Jamuna turned out to be a blockbuster screening for 100 days. The makers celebrated the success meet at Apsara Hotel in Rajahmundry. Sobhan Babu was over the moon with the film success as he teamed with Jamuna for the first time.
ANR who graced the event as a chief guest, showered praises on him. He said, “I watched Tahsildaru Gari Ammayi. I felt as if I starred in the film. Sobhan Babu did dual role very well. Especially in father's role, his expressions reminded me. I am now confident and bold about the future. My heir is Sobhan Babu. He is the hope of the industry."
From then on producers who used to do films regularly with ANR started queuing for Sobhan Babu who too mingled closely with them just like ANR and looked after their wellbeing.
When Sobhan Babu was at peaks, Mikkilineni Jagadeesh Babu who ran Screenplay monthly magazine tried hard to get a serial on Sobhan Babu who finally relented and promised 'I will write Nenu Naa Heroinlu and you can publish them'. Jagadeesh Babu who was also Jayasudha PRO announced it at once and it got huge response from the people.
Sobhan planned to insist on Imandi Ramarao, senior journalist close to him, to write the article. However Jayasudha felt that if Jagadeesh Babu writes, he and his magazine will get good name.
Finally, Sobhan Babu decided to write it on his own. He used to get flooded with fan mails for each published article every month. Not only movie lovers but also film celebrities used to read his articles. Many other heroines used to call and enquire him, when he will write about them.
Incidentally while the articles were published in Screenplay magazine, many award winners confidentially claimed that his articles were published in Vijayachitra. Whom are they misleading?
