Supreme hero Sai Dharam Tej’s Chitralahari business is coming to an end. The film directed by Kishre Tirumala will be replaced in many theaters by super star Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi hitting the screens this Thursday. The film has collected nearly 16.5 crores worldwide till date and it is a safe venture for buyers in many centers. Chitralahari had done a worldwide pre-release business of Rs 14.73 Cr.
Critics opined that, Chitralahari is an underwhelming effort at storytelling which suffers big time due to poor execution and ordinary direction. However, at the same time, fans have pointed out that Tej has delivered the best performance of his career and proved that he is talent personified.
Thankfully, Chitralahari had done good business in first week. In fact, the film recovered maximum of its investment in first week itself. However, owing to mixed talk and also due to heavy competition from Majili, Jersey and Kanchana 3, Chitralahari slowed down.
Kalyani Priyadarshan and NIvetha Pethuraj played female leads opposite SDT in the film bankrolled under Mythri Movie Makers banner.
