Kanchana Bigger Than Rajinikanth, Vijay!

Kanchana is turning out to be one of the successful franchises in Indian cinema. The third part in the series- Kanchana 3 hit the screens recently to overwhelming response from the audience, though critics slammed it for lack of uniqueness.

Most of the credit for the hit Kanchana series goes to the film’s creator Raghava Lawrence. Since the name Kanchana has become a lucky charm, Lawrence is retaining the name alongside Muni.

Lawrence is successful in bringing the family audiences, especially kids, to the theatres and revived the B and C markets with this franchise. The stardom of Lawrence is primarily built on this franchise, which has given him a huge reach in B and C markets across south India.

Guess what, Kanchana has crossed Rs 50 Cr gross mark in just 3 days run and it is expected to end as one of the biggest grosser of south this year. In fact, no other hero including Rajinikanth, Suriya, Vijay etc. are no bigger than Kanchana series, that’s the craze for the franchise. Kanchana 3 is likely to cross Petta full run collections in coming days, going by the trend.

It is known that Lawrence will be directing Akshay Kumar in the Hindi remake of Kanchana 3. Titled Lakshmi, Kiara Advani will play female lead.
