Almost every director has their own dream project. Likewise, for Rajamouli, Mahabharat is a dream project. He aspires to make the mythological film in 3 to 4 parts with many super stars in India. In fact, many star heroes across the country are keen to star in the film.
Surprisingly, Rajamouli during his recent media interaction announced that, he would quit films after Mahabharat. “Probably, Mahabharat series would be my last film series. After that, I will stop making films,” said Rajamouli during RRR press meet.
This announcement of Rajamouli dismayed many of his fans. But, they should not worry, as Rajamouli’s retirement will not happen in near future. Rajamouli will be busy with NTR and Ram Charan starrer for more than a year. The periodic fictional drama film is slated for release on June 30, 2020.
After the release of RRR, Rajamouli would team up with super star Mahesh Babu for possibly a James Bond kind of film to be bankrolled by KL Narayana under the popular Sri Durga Arts Banner.
Apparently, Rajamouli would take up one or two small to medium range films before start working for Mahabharat, as he doesn’t like to do high budget entertainers with star heroes one after the other.
Thus, Rajamouli would take up Mahabharat series only after 5 to 6 years. And, it will take more than 5 years for him to wrap up Mahabharat series. So, Rajamouli will not retire from films for at least another 10 to 15 years.
