Breaking: Visakha Railway Zone Announced

It's a big breaking news tor Andhra Pradsh's people. The union railway minister Piyush Goyal has just announced special railway zone to Visakhapatnam. This is indeed, a long awaited wish of AP's people. Also, the new railway zone has been named as 'South Coast Railway'. 

Visakha railway zone was one of the promises made by the union government for the newly formed AP five years ago. Although a series of protests were made by various political parties and NGOs, the centre appeared to have ignored their protests. Finally, the union government announced the much awaited wish of AP ahead of the general elections. 

Visakha railway division has been a surplus revenue division of the whole Bhubaneswar zone which is located in East coast railway. The other divisions of the zone have been surviving on the surplus revenue of VSP for a long time. That is why the Odisha state has been against leaving the VSP division. The new zone announced by the railway minister will not let other states to be benefited financially.

Visakha now will have all the powers of running trains in all the divisions. On the other hand, AP's youth will get maximum recruitment through RRB under South Coast Railway zone. 

The centre has also decided to change Rayagarh division as Waltair division.

People of Andhra Pradesh, especially, the North Andhra people, have been overjoyed with the railway minister's announcement. Obviously, everyone is now hoping that the centre would also announce special category status to AP soon.
