Filmmakers are following novel ways in promoting their films. New trends and marketing techniques are coming out to attract movie lovers in the film promotions. Till recently filmmakers used to promote their films from the launch, working stills, latest updates, new posters, looks, audio function, teaser launch, trailer launch, pre release event, interviews etc.
For some reason the makers are ignoring social media. Many predicted changes in film promotions few decades back. They however felt that advent of technology make film promotions easier. However it seems the trend is reversing.
Movie lovers are unable to recollect which films released recently and the upcoming films. This means though people are active on social media with youtube, amazon, facebook, twitter etc, makers are unable to promote their films in a novel manner.
That was the reason why films like Padi Padi Leche Manasu, Mr Majnu, Antarkisham though got average talk, failed at the box office as the makers failed to reach the movie lovers. Even though the makers are promoting their films relentlessly, burning issues and latest developments are keeping their films in the backburner.
What many say is if the makers ignore promoting their films from the beginning and indulge in last minute gimmicks, it will not save their films. Hope the makers realize their blunder in banking solely on week-long promotions.
