Rajamouli’s craze was restricted for Tollywood until the release of Eega. He became nationwide popular post arrival of Baahubali which was a massive hit in all the languages. Entire nation is awaiting the release of Rajamouli’s ongoing film RRR with young tiger NTR and mega power star Ram Charan.
On the other hand, Shankar was the other craziest directors in south until the release of 2.0 with super star. While his Robot brought him recognition all over the country, he lost sheen with the debacle results of I and Robot’s sequel 2.0. Even though the film had Bollywood star Akshay Kumar in a key role, it ended as a commercial failure.
Just after the release of 2.0, overenthusiastic fans of Rajinikanth and Shankar released posters to give bigger range elevation to the graphical extravaganza. What’s more, they showed 2.0 as bigger than Baahubali. But, the same fans couldn’t able to watch the film at least for twice which is the reason why 2.0 turned out as a disaster.
Actually, 2.0 is a good movie with some social message. But, huge budget spent on it played spoilsport. Producers of Lyca Productions have allegedly shelved Indian 2 as Shankar is asking them to invest high budget once again.
Shankar is looking for producers who can spend nearly 300 Cr budget. But, owing to recent past track record of Shankar, nobody is daring to associate with Shankar. Once, many producers dreamed to work with Shankar. But, the situation is completely reverse now.
However, Rajamouli is continuing to surprise analysts, trade and audience with his highly engaging films. So far, the director did not face any failure and producers are ready to invest any budget on his films. When DVV Danayya was offered Rs 100 Cr just to leave RRR to Baahubali producers, he did not accept the deal, as he knows the demand for Rajamouli films.
After scoring flops and with latest developments, Shankar makes Rajamouli the real Baahubali in filmmaking as no other director has such craze in the country for now.
