Many expected realistic feel in NTR biopic when Balakrishna decided to pay floral tributes to his dad, legendary personality NTR. However the film's first part Kathanayakudu instead of showcasing how NTR strove hard to attain stardom in the film industry, turned out to be an idol worship. In the process, Balakrishna, director Krish and producers belittled other legends during his time.
This was the reason why Kathanayakudu despite positive reviews, turned out to be one of the biggest disasters in Tollywood. With Kathanayakudu earning the notorious name for being propaganda rather than a biopic, the makers are now making last ditch attempt to save Mahanayakudu, the film’s second part.
The makers are said to have toned down the hero worship in the second part and show NTR in a vulnerable manner rather than as a powerful persona. Similarly, the makers who before the release of Kathanayakudu, elevated Chandra Babu's role played by Rana, now mercilessly cut them short. Buzz is there will be only couple of scenes elevating Chandra Babu Naidu in the film.
However many wonder whether these last ditch efforts will save Mahanayakudu. People say Balakrishna realized his mistake of idol and hero worship showing his dad Demi God, only after burning his hands completely. Others are finding fault with the script writer and director Krish for not being bold enough to voice his views against Balakrishna over the film's content.
