Balakrishna decided to pay floral tributes to his dad, legendary personality NTR on screen and right from NTR biopic launch, the film generated tremendous interest.
Like many wondered on what new things Balakrishna will reveal about his dad who was revered as God in the film, everyone waited eagerly. The film’s first part directed by Krish released amidst huge expectations as first in festive battle. Unfortunately, the film got decent openings but then hit the rock bottom from day two turning out to be a flop.
Now onto the post release post mortem, speculation increased on who backstabbed NTR-Kathanayakudu. A section of audience are saying that the film for its lengthy drags, documentary feel and showing NTR as god, rather many are now opining that they should have shown few negative angles or the other failure side of NTR too.
Obviously, insiders are blaming Balakrishna for the flop show. Fault lies with Balakrishna who produced the film. He did not give any freedom for Krish as a director and the same was revealed by popular writer Paruchuri Gopala Krishna.
‘I felt that NTR Kathanayakudu should have added few more unknown angles and I called Krish, asked about the same. However Krish told me that he too even felt the same but Balakrishna told him only one thing. He came with a condition that those who watch the film shouldn’t think negatively about his father. Due to Balakrishna’s conditions, Krish had to take the film with only positive side and Kathanayakudu missed some scenes that could have moved viewers touched emotionally. Kathanayakudu was diluted as the happenings in NTR’s life were not shown as it is and some incidents were hidden due to Balakrishna decision,’ said Paruchuri.
