When She Fell In Godavari

A scary incident happened when director Adurti Subbarao was shooting the super hit song 'eenati ee bandhamenatido' for Moogamanasulu movie on ANR and Savitri on a boat on river Godavari. Cinematographer PL Rai was handling cinematography and during the stanza 'evaru pilicharano', Savitri bent down expressing herself and at that time, her saree got stuck to the propeller and dragged her down.

Savitri fell from the boat in the Godavari but with her presence of mind, she bravely held edge of the boat. The boat was stopped and unit members with another boat tried to help Savitri. They gave her a rope. But she could not reach top though everyone asked her to do so. 

Realizing the situation, ANR handed over the canvas to Savitri who was holding it to reach the boat. Then unit members realized why Savitri hesitated and why ANR gave her canvas sheet to her.
