Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth's detractors have been alleging for quite some time that the Superstar hadn't delivered solid hits over the decade and all of his recent hits were directed by top director Shankar only.

"Rajini has accustomed to depend on either Shankar or graphics in his films which automatically created hype on the projects due to VFX and Shankar's factors. But then, media has kept on boasting about Rajini's charisma, which actually can be assessed well with only films like Petta that have been made with no Shankar and no VFX factors," opines a critic of Rajini.

And now, a strong evidence to showcase Rajini's exact range without Shankar is divulged by the media.

As we all know, Rajni and Shankar's combo film 2.0 was sold out in Telugu states with an astronomical price of Rs.72 crores.

If the film nagar reports are anything to go by, Petta's Telugu version Peta theatrical rights were acquired by Ashok Vallabhaneni for Rs.12 crores. It might be a shocker to some movie buffs but the reality cannot be detached.

In the meanwhile, producer Ashok Vallabhasetti is pinning hopes on Sankranthi collections which are expected to make Telugu producer to get bailed out of his risk. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Peta is hitting screens on January 10.
