After botching to make a mark at the domestic market, Aamir Khan’s Thugs Of Hindostan was estimated to make up for some of the lost grounds in China. But, that seems implausible now as the opening of the film is in the same range as Akshay Kumar's Pad Man, which released earlier this month in neighboring country and eventually flopped.
Aamir Khan became a big star in China after his last two films Dangal and Secret Superstar had done amazing business there. Yet, Thugs Of Hindostan has had a shockingly low start in China. On day one, the Vijay Krishna Acharya directed film minted $ 1.53 million [Rs 10.67 cr], including premiere shows.
The film has received a substantial amount Of around Rs 100 cr+ upfront from China. However, producers are already in safe zone due to the solid price they have received from the local distributors who will incur massive losses.
