They Believe Rajamouli, Nobody Else

Shobhu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni of Arka Media have produced a total of 6 movies- 1 Kannada and 5 Telugu including Baahubali series- Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion in 9 to 10 years of their journey in film production. 

Except for their films with Rajamouli such as Maryada Ramanna and Baahubali, their other films bombed miserably at box office. The producers pocketed heavy profits with Baahubali, but they haven’t lined up any new film till date as they don’t seem to believe any director other than Rajamouli.

They allegedly offered Rs 100 crores to producer DVV Danayya to give away production rights of Rajamouli’s latest directorial RRR starring young tiger NTR and mega power star Ram Charan. 

Nonetheless, Danayya refused the proposal as he doesn’t want to miss the life time opportunity of working with Rajamouli. Moreover, with Rajamouli at helm and presence of two super stars, RRR is expected to make record business at ticket window.

After RRR, Rajamouli committed to do a film for KL Narayana of Durga Arts. It will take at least three years for Rajamouli to wrap up these two projects. So, producers of Arka Media have preferred to make prequel to Baahubali as web-series, rather than producing film with other director.

In fact, they went ahead with Baahubali prequel only after getting approval for script from Rajamouli.

It has to be seen whether the producers will wait for three to four years for Rajamouli or line up any film in the meantime!
