2.0 Fails to Beat Baahubali 2!

Much hyped visual extravaganza 2.0 hit the screens across the globe on Thursday while the US premieres were screened a day prior to the film's release. Much to everyone's surprise, US distributors didn't reveal premiere shows collections of the film. 

The reason cited was that the film was compared to Baahubali 2 by the Tamil media and predicted that 2.0 would beat BB 2 quite easily. In reality, nothing of that sort was happened through US premieres. 

"De facto, 2.0 was released in 800 screens in the US. But it failed to cross Baahubali 2's premiere shows collections," a source close to 2.0 US distributors said. "The distributors are likely to disclose US premieres collections along  with the first day collections of the film," they added.

Baahubali 2 collected $3.5M through its US premieres alone which is humongous. It's now crystal clear that 2.0 couldn't break BB 2 opening records in the US. The question is that whether the film would cross BB 2 in its long run or not.
