With Rs.500 crores on stake, Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth and top director Shankar's visual spectacle 2.0 is hitting screens on forthcoming Thursday. This Sci-Fi entertainer is set for a Brobdingnagian release down South.

It's being said the movie will have a grand release in all southern states including Telugu. In Prasadz the film will have 34 shows on day one which is said to be a new record in the multiplex. Previously, the record was held by Megastar Chiranjeevi's Khaidi Number 150 with 33 shows on day one.

However, in spite of the presence of Bollywood star Akshay Kumar as an antagonist and the huge promotions from the team 2.0, the movie appeared to have failed making a huge buzz in North India.

Right now, advance bookings are in full swing in Southern theatres while they need to be improved in Northern states. Incidentally, Robo performed better in Southern states while its Hindi version couldn't show any impact in North.

However, once the film hits the screens and carries positive reports, it has a potentiality to attract all regions. In fact, 2.0 has been made as a universal film which targets all sections of audience with due importance given to children.

Amy Jackson dons female lead. AR Rahman provided tunes of the movie. It's a Lyca Productions' venture.
